There’s only one way to celebrate Fat Tuesday… well, ok two. But if you’re not partying down in New Orleans, then sinking your teeth into a big old feast is the way to go. While I advocate eating mostly plant based, whole foods whenever possible - I'm also a big believer in the occasional indulgence. So, in honor of the occasion – I decided to gather a few girlfriends together to do just that. And what more appropriate restaurant to host than the West Village’s Fatty ‘Cue?! But just because the name is caloric, doesn’t mean the food necessarily is. Despite the fact that ‘cue is short for barbecue, the menu actually offers a wide range of flavor packed seafood, chicken and vegetable dishes, in addition to elegantly prepared steak and lamb. They also use only the best meats (Heritage pork, Brandt beef), often locally sourced, and stock their produce from the Union Square Farmers Market. Knowing my affinity for healthful food, the Fatty crew generously created a selection of hippie-friendly menu items that allowed my guests and I to get a taste of it all.
And taste it all we did… After five, finger licking savory courses and two desserts, we felt that we’d celebrated the holiday appropriately. So it’s a good thing that I had asked everyone to wear their favorite “chic to feast”; aka "fat day" outfit. Because let’s face it, no matter what your denim size, we all have our off days, but that doesn’t mean that everyone needs to know. WHY THIS OUTFIT MAKES ME FEEL GREAT
This giant turtleneck hides a number of sins, but paired with skinny black leggings and a fierce heel – it feels anything but frumpy. A pointy stiletto pump is especially elongating.

WHY THIS OUTFIT MAKES ME FEEL GREAT
Boyfriend jeans are so comfortable and slouchy, but I’ll always wear a heel to make me still feel sexy! I love lux accessories to amp up an otherwise super casual outfit.

WHY THIS OUTFIT MAKES ME FEEL GREAT
I chose a loose-fit bohemian top to feel comfortable, and the sheen on the Tucker chambray made it a bit more elegant. I always count on a good pair of high-waisted denim to slim down a looser top, especially black to make a casual look chic. Acne is my go-to jean. Paired with a sleek, black boot with a heel!
