Vogue & Brahmin Host Dinner at the Hotel Giraffe

Slide1.jpg

No matter what your size, shape, age or hair color – just about every girl loves a little arm candy.  But before dessert, there must be dinner… Which is why Vogue’s dinner party for Brahmin handbags made for a perfectly balanced meal!  On the enclosed rooftop of the Hotel Giraffe, about 30 stylists, editors and bloggers met for an evening of gabbing and bagging.  The hosts of the evening were Brahmin and Vogue’s ‘Style Council’: a team of tastemakers, including Hannah Bronfman, Kim Pesch, Ann Colville Somma and Lisa von Weise.

The storied handbag brand, Brahmin has been family run for decades, and the passion of it’s employees is contagious.  Details like handles inspired by guitar straps, and clasps from antique bags add to the brands rich heritage – while pops of cobalt blue and crossbody styles appeal to modern style-setters.  One of my personal faves, the Mini Kathleen in black – is a killer combination of rock n’ roll cool, crafted in lux, crocodile stamped leather, which rings in at a reasonable $225.  And as promised, after dinner must come dessert… Imagine our delight when the meal ended, and servers brought out an Ophelia bag from the Polished Party Collection for each and every one of us!

Natty Style Files for Cosmopolitan: How I Became a Professional Stylist

I am Natalie Decleve. I am a New York-based stylist and fashion correspondent, and founder of Natty Style, LLC. I am a travel addict, aesthete and foodie, feminist, and hopeless romantic. Home is a fifth floor studio in Manhattan’s West Village, which I’ve dubbed my Treehouse because of all the stairs you’ve got to climb to get there. I spend my days dressing my clients — the men and women of NYC — and writing for various media outlets. I spend my nights soaking up all that this rich and wild city has to offer. I am thankful each and every day to be living the dream that I envisioned as a kid growing up in California, many moons ago. Well, not exactly my dream, because as a kid, I dreamed of working in a flower shop during the day and bartending at night to afford a shoebox apartment in the center of Times Square. Thankfully, I came to my senses before I made that move. I realized that Times Square was the last place in NYC (and on Earth) where one would ever want to live, and re-calibrated my career compass toward fashion...

A Valentine from Natty Style for Valentine-NYC

Valentine was begun by two gals, looking to bring romance to every day reality.  By photographing individuals in their own homes, own clothes, and interviewing them on their most intimate moments - the site breeds an authenticity that's charming and seductive.

So it makes sense that what started as a simple blog, has snowballed into a brand that will include products that speak to a the amorous lifestyle.  An exclusive fragrance and lingerie line are both due to launch in December, along with a host of events at Art Basel Miami.

As a female entrepreneur, I was thrilled to support these like minded ladies by working with them to create a feature for their site.  Below are highlights and video from the shoot, or click [HERE] for the real Valentine.

Gros bisous!

8 Days of Personal Style at NY Fashion Week

8 Days of Personal Style at NY Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week has finally come to a close, and what a whirlwind it was!  7 days of runways, parties, lounges and street style is an exciting and intense experience.  I kicked off the week by co-hosting a “Breakfast & Blow Outs” party at DryBar in celebration of designer, Hunter Bell’s latest collection.  From there I attended an FIT Museum luncheon honoring Michael Kors, the Veronica Beard presentation, a Benefit Cosmetics and E! Fashion Police party, the Zady.com launch party, and finally ended the night at the VFiles magazine party.  And that was just day one!

Sseko - Sandals With Soul!

Fashion is often a battle between style and comfort.  So when we find a product that serves both teams PLUS makes you feel good on the inside, it's a home run!  I was recently approached by Sseko sandals to be a part of their 30 Ways, 30 Days campaign to spread the word about their brand.  It didn't take me long to say yes...

Style Guide: How to Choose the Right Eyewear with Warby Parker

Style Guide: How to Choose the Right Eyewear with Warby Parker

Arguably the hottest brand on the market right now is the revolutionary concept shop: Warby Parker.  Dedicated to making stylish eyewear accessible, Warby's uber hip frames cost between $95-$150 - and that's WITH a prescription!  Free shipping and returns from the website for easy home try-ons, plus multiple retail locations popping up in Manhattan and elsewhere make it easy to snap up a pair...or 3.  The hard part is choosing a style that's right for you.  Luckily, during my recent shoot/shopping spree - I got tips from the brand's own Samantha Andriano on how to select the right frames for your face.

5 Festive Outfits To Celebrate Cinco de Mayo!

5 Festive Outfits To Celebrate Cinco de Mayo!

Everyone loves a reason to get out and about in the spring.  So Cinco de Mayo comes at the perfect time; just as the weather is warming up - giving us all an excuse to celebrate at rooftop BBQ's and al-fresco dining spots around the city.  Of course, no Mexican holiday would be complete without a margarita (or 3) so when my friend's all natural tequila company, La Brujita, asked me to contribute to their CDM guide with some day-drinking approved outfits; I gladly said "si senor!"

Racked Shopping Confidential: My Stationary Secrets!

Recently, I was asked to contribute to Racked's "Shopping Confidential" section to highlight one of my favorite undiscovered shopping destinations in NYC.  I Pay Day Loans chose one of my favorite gift shops, which also specializes in custom letterpress stationary.  Click [HERE] for the full story on Racked!

Winter Skincare Tips from An Expert Dermatologist

Winter Skincare Tips from An Expert Dermatologist

As the days get shorter and colder, and our summer tans have long since faded away – it’s easy to want to hibernate until spring returns.  Especially when your skin starts drying out and playing tricks on you.  To help ease the transition, I consulted leading cosmetic dermatologist and creator of MirSkin, Tabasum Mir, MD – on why this happens and how to fix it.

What's the quickest way to update your look for fall?  By switching up your beauty routine of course!  While wardrobe shopping for the season can take some time, there's nothing easier than scooping up a new lipstick or experimenting with eyeshadow.  This week, I called upon my favorite beauty expert; makeup artist Cris Jenkins, to give us the low down on the look of the season.  Hint: things are about to get dark...

The whimsical decor was a perfect match for the collection, which is anchored by quirky prints like candy stripes and pastel beetles.  I've got my eye on the silk blouse and chiffon skirt set, which will soon be mine thanks to the generous gift card we received!  In attendance were some of the best in the biz, including Elle Creative Director Joe Zee, celebrity stylist Mia Morgan, PR maven Veronica Borchers & more.

Giveaway: Zoyas Natty Nail-Polish from the New Designer Collection! - 5 WINNERS

It’s no secret that I’m obsessed with Zoya nail polish [hey, when I love something - I’m not shy about sharing!] Their “Big 5 Free” policy means that I can breath easy when I use their products because they’re ALL free of harmful and toxic chemicals. But if that wasn’t enough, the fact that they last the LONGEST of any polish I’ve tried has made me a die hard Zoya fan for life [check out my last Zoya giveaway post here to see what I mean!]

The good news is, as it turns out, this love might not be so one sided… Zoya has created a color for their latest Designer Collection named “NATTY” after yup, you guessed it - Yours Truly! This creamy navy/grey shade is not only one of my signature colors, but it’s also a big “it” shade for nails this fall. Lucky me! And… Lucky you! Because Zoya has also generously given me a handful of polishes to share with my friends and readers.
